Steps-2-3-For-Soft-Natural-Hair

The First Three Steps You MUST Take To Get Softer, More Manageable Hair

To get softer, more manageable hair, you must first understand the type of hair you have, issues that you face and the start working out the root cause of your problems.  Below are the first three things you must do to get you on the “right” side of your hair.  Print this document out and keep it in a place where you can refer to it several times as you carry out the recommended steps.

STEP 1

Complete a simple hair quiz and mapping.  You’ve already done that.  Yaay!

STEP 2

Determine what your hair needs and jot down the key direct and/or related hair challenges that you face daily.  Based on the result of your hair assessment.  Think about what your hair needs most right now.  Is it moisture?  Is it combability?  Volume?  Health?  What is it?  Are you using many different products or do you use a system that works for you?  Is what you are doing working?  You will need these direct and/or related hair challenges for STEP 3 so be sure to complete this exercise.

STEP 3

Come up with a simple, written action plan to re-gain the health of your hair and achieve the softness and manageability that you so desperately need.  Start with only 3-5 key action items and after 30 days of consistently applying your solutions, reassess where you are and add more actions as needed.

Consistently Healthy hair is only possible with a healthy lifestyle. Consider the recommendations below and join the upcoming webinar, “5 Steps to Soft, Gorgeous, Vibrant Hair” during which we will go in-depth on all these steps as well as share 2 more steps that you’ll find invaluable in your journey:

Action Plan Table with recommendations [start with 3 actions so as not to overwhelm yourself.  Once you form a habit (usually within a timespan of 30 days and the action is not hard to do anymore, you can add another beneficial action]

Key Direct or Related Hair Challenge

Root Cause (ask why 5 times and by the time you get to the 5thanswer you should have a good sense as to what’s causing the challenge)

Solution/Action [You can set up a schedule, dates, timeline with objective and what you want the result to be based on the action]

Example:  My hair is always dry and drab.  It is difficult to comb and style.

I’m not drinking enough water, I’m using products that strip my hair and are not hydrating.

Action:  Drink 8 8Oz glasses of water a day.  Research better, more hydrating products for my hair.

Start Date:  Immediately

Desired Result:  Hair that is more moisturized and alive with bounce.

Example:  I’m stressed and have no time to manage my natural hair

Overly stretched at home and work and have no me time

Action:  Take a yoga class, learn to say no (quote:  when you say yes, make sure you’re not saying no to yourself).  Curve out some time every day just for me.

Start Date

Desired Result

Example:  My hair is highly porous

I’m using the wrong products that don’t penetrate my hair shaft.

Action:  I’ll clear my cabinet of products that I know don’t work. This will be freeing for me. I’ll research and start using a product and routine that works.

Start Date:  Jan 20th 2016

Desired Result:  Well hydrated, soft and moist hair
